Verizon Wireless has officially announced that the Motorola DROID will be available for purchase on November 6th for a subsidized (contract) price of $199 after a $100 mail-in rebate. The DROID will ship with the much-anticipated Android 2.0 and all that it has to offer. The DROID will offer the following:
- Visual Voicemail
- 3.7-inch display with 854 x 480 resolution
- 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash
- 16GB memory card and beta version of Google Maps Navigation
- Slide-out QWERTY keyboard
- 3G and WiFi
- Voice-activated search
- Over-the-air Amazon MP3 downloads
The DROID should make a big splash and really primes the pump at Verizon for Android handsets that will soon follow. Will you be at a Verizon store to pick up a DROID on November 6th?
